GENERAL MANAGER

Location: North York
Job Type: Full-Time

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Retirement Living, Hospitality, or another relevant sector; Preference will be given to  an RN or RPN in good standing with the CNO (Previous managerial experience in a retirement home or long-term care home)
  • Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving, understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors
  • Ability to relate to all levels of staff, the residents and their families with a high degree of patience, tolerance and confidentiality
  • Initiative, good judgment and leadership abilities, supervisory capabilities
  • Good communication skills; both oral and written. Good public relation skills.
  • Working knowledge of the following legislation:
  • Retirement Homes Act
  • Residential Tenancies Act
  • Employment Standards Act
  • Labour Relations Act
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Workers’ Compensation Act
  • Coroner’s Act
  • Regulated Health Professions Act
  • Familiar with ORCA Standards

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, coordinate and direct all activities of the residence
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality care for residents and resident satisfaction
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial, personnel and resident data
  • Be knowledgeable of and practice residence’s fire and safety programs
  • Refer and adhere to all policies and procedures as they are in effect
  • Manage residence in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Provide leadership and motivation to the staff for the achievement of the residence’s objectives
  • Establish or facilitate new services with the approval of the Owner/Management Company
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate records of residents, personnel, and the operations in order to provide regular reports to the owner/Management Company on the activities, needs and problems of the residence
  • Represent the Owner/Management Company at all meetings
  • Negotiate and enter into contracts required for ordinary operations of business
  • Liaise and consult with inspectors and professionals in relation to the operation of the residence
  • Undertake all other responsibilities delegated by the Owner/Management Company

Staff Supervision:

  • Be knowledgeable of job responsibilities and descriptions of all staff
  • Provide supervision and direction for all office and management staff
  • Assess and monitor staffing needs
  • Select, hire and as necessary, terminate employees
  • Conduct performance appraisals and evaluations of employees
  • Ensure that Registered Staff members are current in their registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Provide orientation, instructions, supervision and on-going in-service training of all employees
  • Prepare agenda for general staff meetings with input from personnel
  • Monitor adherence to fire and safety procedures in the residence. Ensure continued participation of all staff in fire drills and safety measures.
  • Ensure that assignments and work duties are divided fairly between staff and shifts
  • Ensure residence is adequately staffed to ensure an approved level of service

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Location: North York
Job Type: Full-Time

As a new Chef  you will:

Create exceptional mealtime experiences for our residents and their families through the provision of delicious and well-balanced meals, fostering exemplary relationships with residents and their families while focusing on flexible dining and customer service.

Our Chefs follow meal plans in accordance with Physicians orders and nutritional guidelines, and are able to lead other team members in pursuit of a resident-centered dining experience.

Requirements:

  • Be a graduate of Chef Training or Culinary Management Diploma from an accredited college
  • Possess a food safety certification

HEALTH AND WELLNESS MANAGER

Location: North York
Job Type: Full-Time

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure the provision  of high quality personal care to the Residents  including bathing, dressing  assistance, medication administration,  and mobility assistance
  • Assume responsibility  for the Residence in the absence  of the General Manager
  • Hire, onboard and schedule Nurses and Personal Support  Workers. This includes monitoring  the performance of all team members  in the department.
  • Refers reports and records pertinent information  related to the Resident’s care to other Nurses and Health Care team members.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians,  pharmacists, other professional  care providers, other department managers,  Residents, and their families
  • Function within the current practice of nursing and within applicable legislation,  policies and procedures of the Retirement Homes Act (RHA) and Weston Retirement Village. Maintain  and upgrade your competence  related to clinical practice and professional  licensing.
  • Other duties as required

What you bring:

  • Registration with the College of Nurses in the Province  of Ontario
  • Current Certificate of Competence  as Registered  Practical  Nurse of the College of Nurses
  • Experience working in a similar setting; experience  in Geriatric  care is an asset

CULINARY SERVICES MANAGER

What you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing meal preparation from seasonal menus; ensuring food quality and presentation meets fine dining standards
  • Leading and inspiring  your team, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation, and a positive working environment

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE

  • Experience in Geriatrics  considered an asset
  • Experience in Retirement  Industry or a similar setting an asset

LIVINGWELL COORDINATOR

CONCIERGE

  • Greet residents, visitors, and the general public
